There's only one problem with the stock-dump scenario:
Because everyone knows what Musk is doing,
the only thing dumping his stock will do is temporarilly lower the price,
allowing them to be purchased at an artificially lowered price per share (pps).
Afterwards, the pps will most likey beat the pps that Musk bought them for.
In effect, nothing will change other than the fact that he will end up
having to sell most of his shares at a loss.
However, if he were to offer enough cash I think twitter may very well be sold...
I'm just not so sure Musk would be willing to pay the asking price,
which would be well above what he's offered.
However, in playing devil's advocate here,
Musk may actually be putting out the idea
that he will dump his shares just to get the twitter share price to drop,
where he will then buy more for less.
Time will expose his true motives.
