The second spring festival of each year,
Ostara, always falls on the day of the Spring Equinox.

Ostara is the second of three spring celebrations
(the midpoint between Imbolc and Beltane),
during which light and darkness are again in balance
- with light on the rise.

This is a time of excitement and rejoicing as the end of winter
finally draws near and being outdoors feels pleasant again.

We have not yet arrived at the sultry passion of summer,
but are instead enjoying the more balanced energies of this equinox.

It is a time of new beginnings, when the forces of life and light surge up
from the depths of winter.

Generally speaking, Ostara represents fertility, renewal and rebirth,
and growth.

Ostara (as well as Easter) gets its name
the Old English spring and fertility goddess, Ēostre.

In the Wiccan belief and many modern pagan mythologies,
the growing daylight represents the God archetype
moving from infancy into maturity.

Likewise, the Earth becomes warmer and more fertile
as the Goddess archetype blossoms into the full power of her Maiden aspect.

Additionally, Ostara also marks the beginning of Aries season
- and the beginning of a new astrological year.

Basically, this season offers electric creative energy
(if you know how to tap into it).

At Ostara, we celebrate new life and new beginnings,
as well as new potential for growth and progress in our own lives.

It’s a wonderful time to start planning for new goals,
or set fresh new intentions, or to perform spellwork
