A gentleman named John Welch shared this story, and I frankly thought it was made up so,
I researched it, and much to my dismay, discovered it was true.

Below John's post, I embedded a link to a Smithsonian magazine article,
which backs up what he says.

John Welch: "I stopped trusting the government in 2nd grade when I saw a display at a museum in Milwaukee
that made me feel the "authorities" are disingenuous (at best).

Over the years, I have become more and more convinced that "the people" are expendable.

I realize many (perhaps most) of you will see this post and think such diabolical experimentation is a thing of the past.

"The Fernald students’ experiment was just one among dozens of radiation experiments
approved by the Atomic Energy Commission. Between 1945 and 1962,
