The serpent symbolizes more than a few things in Mayan culture,
and the shamanic energy called koyopa (the inner lightning) is one of them.

Those who master it are said to possess unusual powers.

In one of the communities where I lived, such individuals were initiated into special levels
of the indigenous priesthood on high-numbered Kan days – like this one.

This day holds the possibility to recognize and nurture your own inner magic and create your own reality.

For more information on the koyopa, see my video posted below
under the title “Koyopa: The Inner Lightning of the Maya.”

    Jaguar Wisdom SAYS:
    SPECIAL NOTE FOR ASTROLOGERS.

Have you ever wondered where the glyphs for the Moon's Nodes come from?

At one time the Nodes were known as the Dragon's Head and the Dragon's Tail,
and here we see the glyph for the South Node on the hood of a cobra in India.

You may wonder why the Dragon's Tail glyph is here on his head rather than the Dragon's Head glyph.

Actually, the earliest portraits of the glyphs show them as reversed:

This was the head of the dragon.

At some point in the Middle Ages they were switched.

In Hindu myth, the Moon's Nodes are the head and tail of a great dragon who is in the shape of a serpent.

    • Rahu & Ketu

In Hindu astrology, the Moon's Nodes are not abstract concepts,
but are personalities, characters in the drama, fully realized to the point where one might say,
"So and so is a real Rahu type of guy," which would imply various types of personality characteristics.
