Edenburgh - Edinburgh - Solar Cross - Suardal Chambered Cairn (an Sithean)

This western alignment from St Maelrubha’s Pulpit and Holy Well passes across Broadford Bay, Skye, and through the chambered cairn on the shore at Liveras to the cairn on the top of Bein na Caillach - 'The Hill of the Old Woman’,. Inside that cairn, legend says, is the buried upright body of a Viking Princess, known locally as ‘Saucy Mary’. Use your imagination as to why.

A Gaelic poem mentions ‘the Big Man standing on the beach at Liveras... this is what it is referencing, with the star Betelgeuse at the head, the belt on the mountaintop cairn, and the foot on the chambered cairn at Liveras, the hidden location of Rigel. This alignment occurs at midnight on January 12th. It is only at this latitude that the vertical alignment occurs between B/G and Rigel.

They saw the Unicorn.

    Chris, I believe she was a daughter of King Haakon... here’s the Wiki entry. It mentions a ‘big woman’
    I’ve also just discovered that the local fishermen have always called that ‘hole in the water’, out from my house, 'Poseidon’s Palace’
    and Beinn na Chapuill behind it is the 'Mount of the Horse’, Poseidon being the King of the Horses.
    The narrows at Kyle-Rhea being his ma... Castle Moll at Kyleakin (Haakon) is also tanº 0 .75 from Giza
    and where the pyramid points to. You can’t make it up, you’ll laugh when you hear the rest of that story.
