COOLING vs WARMING FOODS Cooling foods are those which absorb energy in the body and thereby bring coolness in the body. All Fruits and most vegetables are in this category. These foods should be eaten in summers. In winters eat in moderation or with hot spices like ginger, garlic, black pepper while making juice or decoction. Warming foods are those which produce heat energy in the body. Spices, meat, seeds, nuts, some grains like millet, Buckwheat come in this category. They are ideal for rainy, autumn and winter season. There is no shortcut to determine the energy of food. Only observation and experience confirm this properly as by ancient science like TCM, Ayurveda and other traditional herbal medicine system. These things are not taken into consideration by mainstream modern science and nutritionists yet.
