    • The 2,800-Year-Old “Ghost Castle” Suddenly Appeared On The Top Of The Mountain:
    • Very Difficult To Reach

Turkish scientists have discovered an ancient "ghost castle"
in an unlikely place: the top of a craggy, hard-to-reach mountain, up to 2,500 meters high.

The archaeological team from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University says they have unearthed
the remains of a ghost castle in a buried state on a mountaintop in eastern Turkey’s Van province.

The design, materials, and location of the castle help them confirm
that it belongs to the Kingdom of Uratu or the ancient Kingdom of Van,
a powerful empire that ruled this land many centuries BC.

According to Ancient Origins, excavations have just begun so it’s too early
to determine the size of the castle, but it’s clear that it’s majestic with its fortified walls
    of limestone and sandstone.

They have unearthed the remains of a 105,000-litre water tank,
which may partly reflect the castle’s size and the number of giants that once lived inside.

The castle dates back 2,800 years and appears to have been in use
throughout the centuries, even reused in the Middle Ages.

The Uratian civilization – the ancient Uratu empire was located in a rich area,
mainly thanks to a fertile plateau nestled in the rocky mountains,
    with abundant natural water sources.

It also has many precious metal mines containing gold, silver, copper,
lead and iron, helping people to live comfortably and richly over the centuries.

The land is also close to ancient trade routes.

With many attractive products to trade, the people of this kingdom became richer and prosperous.

They are famous for their massive castles with amazing architecture,
towering on rocky peaks, becoming strong fortresses protecting the kingdom.

However, the constant wars by many other empires occupying this rich land
pushed the Uratian civilization to annihilation around 590 BC, by unknown conquerors.
